“Last spring, when my husband and I began seriously considering having a home built for us, everyone we knew warned us about how difficult and stressful having a house built was.  Some told us that they and their spouses fought more during the construction of their home than ever before!   They obviously did NOT have their home built with Lake Star Building.

Having seen Lake Star’s work on other homes in the past, we felt confident that we were dealing with a company that only choose quality materials and quality people to complete the work.  Jeff was especially helpful in the design phase, aiding us in finding the layout to meet our wants and needs.  Jeff made a design just for us; we didn’t have to choose a “cookie cutter” design.  As we chose to build on a country lot that had just been subdivided, we found out at the beginning that permits can be somewhat problematic.  However, Lowell and Jeff were instrumental in helping us to obtain all of the permits that we needed and even helped us to “nag” the appropriate people to expedite this process.  I am quite certain that most of the competitors would not want to or be able to provide this type of personal service.

Many people had told us how difficult it was for them to choose all of the various fixtures fo their home and remain on-budget.  This, too, was an enjoyable task for us due to the quality and helpfulness of the vendors that Lake Star suggested we use.  The vendors did not try to up-sell their products, in fact, they went out of their way to keep us on-budget.  The materials we were given to choose from were well-made products, not baseline, which made staying on-budget that much easier.  (Jeff is amazingly adept at figuring out prices based on what you say you want).  The few additional items that we opted for while we were shopping didn’t break our wallets, either.

From our point-of-view, the construction phase went smoothly as well.  (I’m not sure if the workers would agree due to the amount of rain and cold we had last Fall!).  In spite of the difficult weather, our home was completed on time, thanks to the diligence and effort of the countless workers, Jeff, and Lowell.  Not a day has gone by in the last two-and-a-half months that I haven’t marveled at my new home.  I truly feel that it is a work of art… handcrafted just for us.
